GASP Annual SuperCollider Symposium

12:00 Noon – 1:45 PM: Intro to SuperCollider
A friendly introduction to SuperCollider for absolute beginners, aimed at artists and musicians. Aside from a familiarity with the digital arts, no prerequisites, though some prior exposure to computer music (perhaps through Max/MSP or Csound) is helpful. The workshop will be led by Neil Leonard and Jeremy Van Buskirk.
2:00 PM – 2:45 PM: A concert of music created using Supercollider curated by Jeremy Van Buskirk.

3:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Intermediate DSP, Networking and System Design in SuperCollider
A workshop for intermediate users of SuperCollider who have worked through the basic SC tutorials and are looking to build performance systems. Focus on control structures and system organization that will lead to the creation of a live performance environment. Topics will include signal routing, MIDI, OSC, patterns, routines, and basic GUI functionality. The workshop will be led by Jeremy Van Buskirk.
SuperCollider is a free, cross-platform environment and programming language for real-time audio synthesis and algorithmic composition. The supported platform for workshops is Mac OSX. For more information on SuperCollider see:
